Our Doctors and Nurse Practitioners
Dr Julian Neal
MBBS Adelaide, DRCOG, DGM, FP Cert
Julian qualified in 1980 and has been
part of the furniture for longer than he cares to remember. He
works mainly at Cosham Park House. His special
interests are in neurology, elderly medicine and looking
wise during senior moments. In his spare time,
he is to be found dressed in lycra cycling up and down
the hills of Hampshire and beyond. |

Dr Daniel Moate
MBChB Bristol, DRCOG, MRCGP
Daniel qualified in 1985 and now works mainly at Cosham Park
House. His special interest is in rheumatology. A closet wide ranging academic and tennis player, Daniel
is rarely to be seen without a book or a tennis racket under his
arm. |

Dr Richard Mannings
MBBS London, DRCOG, DFFP, MSc, MRCGP
Richard qualified in 1986 and has worked at Crookhorn Lane
since 1994. His special expertise is in ultrasound-scanning,
and he runs specialist clinics within the practice. Richard also runs a scanning clinic at QA Hospital. A
fervent ex-rugby player (and All Blacks supporter) he spends a disproportionate amount of his leisure time training his dogs. |

Dr Jayesh Gohil
MBBS London, BSc, DRCOG, DFFP, Dip Occ Med
Having qualified in 1992, Jayesh joined the practice in
1996. He works mainly at Cosham Park House, and
has an interest in Occupational Health and a special expertise in dermatology. Jayesh is something of a "gadget man" and also has an extensive knowledge
of films. |

Dr Karen Kyd
MA MB Camb, BChir, MRCP, DCH, MRCGP
Karen qualified in 1991 and has worked at Cosham Park House
since 1998. Her specialist field is cardiology
and Diabetes. With four young sons and a husband
in the Navy, Karen spends most of her spare time as her
family’s taxi driver. |

Dr Andrew Plane
BSc, MBBS,
DRCOG, DGM, DCH, MRCGP
Andy qualified in 1980 and has been a regular fixture at
Crookhorn Lane since 2002. His specialist fields
are elderly medicine, heart disease and diabetes. Andy runs a specialist elderly person's clinic in Petersfield and is also a senior GP trainer, passing on his experience to a
new breed of budding GPs. Something of an environmentalist,
Andy spends a lot of time looking at trees. |

Dr Liz Shepherd
BM Soton, DRCOG, DFFP, DCH, MRCGP
Liz qualified in 1996 and has worked at Crookhorn Lane since
2001. She specialises in women’s health and
family planning. Liz spends most of her time with her young family and is an avid swimmer. Also a closet environmentalist,
Liz is constantly thinking of ways to save the planet. |

Dr Andrew Whittamore
BM Soton, DRCOG, DFFP, MRCGP
Having qualified in 2000, Andy has worked at the practice since
2003. He works mainly at Crookhorn Lane and his
specialist field is respiratory medicine. He is the clinical lead for respiratory medicine at the Primary Care Trust and lectures regularly on the subject. Had
he not been a Doctor, Andy would have been a travel writer. |

Dr Andrew Ozzard
MBBS, MRCPCH, DCH, DFSRH, MRCGP
Having qualified in 1998, Andy joined the practice in 2009. He works
mainly at Cosham Park House and his specialism is in
paediatric medicine. A lifelong Southampton Football supporter, Andy also has a young family, which severely limits his spare time activities. |

Dr Robin Ghosh
MBChB (Birmingham), MRCGP
Robin qualified in 1999 and joined
the practice in 2009. His specialist field is in musco-skeletal
and sports injuries and operates mainly from our Kingston
Crescent surgery. A keen sportsman himself, Robin
is also regularly to be seen pounding up and down the
hills of Hampshire on a bicycle. |

Dr Stacey Munro
MB ChB, DCH, MRCGP
Stacey qualified in 1989 and joined the practice in 2008,
when her previous practice, Buckland Medical Centre (with
whom she had been a partner since 1999), merged with
the Portsdown Group. Stacey’s specialist
field is psychiatry and substance misuse and she works
mainly at Kingston Crescent. She is also a GP trainer. She
spends much of her spare time on a tennis court or travelling
the world. |

Dr Ka Wai Mo
MBChB, MRCSEd
Ka Wai qualified in1996 and was also previously with Buckland
Medical Centre before it merged with the Portsdown Group. Working
mainly at Kingston Crescent, Ka Wai’s specialist
field is minor surgery, and joints. He is a passionate
hill walker, seeing challenges where most of us see only
danger. |

Dr Koko Laing
Koko joined the team when his previous Surgery, Victory Road, merged with the Portsdown Group Practice in April 2010. A highly experienced GP, Koko works predominantly at our Kingston Crescent Surgery and has a number of special interests and specialities. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Philippa Edwards
MBChB, DRCOG, DFSRH, MRCGP
Philippa qualified in 2000 and is based at Kingston Crescent, she joined the practice in 2009. She specialises in Women’s health and
enjoys netball, cheese and fine wine in her spare time. |

Dr Pradeep Rajashekhar
MBBS Bangalore, MDRD, MRCS
Pradeep qualified in 2002 and has worked in Portsmouth since 2010. He joined the Crookhorn surgery in 2010 as GP registrar and is now a Salaried GP working at both the Cosham and the Kingston sites. Being a new member of the team, Pradeep has very little spare time, but does follow the Indian Cricket Team with a mixture of concern and elation - the former when they are playing in England, the latter when they return home to India

Dr Sarah Swindells
BMBS Nottingham, MRCPCH, DRCOG, MRCGP, DFSRH
Sarah qualified in 2004 and has recently moved back home to Portsmouth following a spell working in the Peak District and in the city of Derby. |

Liz Tomlinson
BSc Nurse Practitioner
A former practice nurse, Liz gained her qualification as a Nurse Practitioner in 2002. Liz has been with the practice since 1991. |

Jackie Edgeller
BSc Nurse Practitioner
Jackie trained as a practice nurse in 1975. She qualified as a Nurse Practitioner in 2007. She joined the practice in 2008 and spends her spare time with her family and travelling. Jackie is also the founder of the Portsdown Group Practice elite staff fitness group. |

BSc Nurse Practitioner
Nicola joined the practice in 2002 and qualified as a Nurse Practitioner in 2004. |
