Breast Screening For Portsdown Patients

From the end of January to late July 2024 , women aged between 50 and 70 years old who are registered at Portsdown Group Practice will be invited to attend breast screening. The mobile breast screening unit is based at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. Women are being invited to attend for breast screening earlier than their scheduled date. This is due to changes in the programme post-Covid and is done to ensure all ladies remain within the 3 year screening cycle.

Attending for breast screening is an important part of being breast aware for women in the age group. there is concern locally that women who’ve been called for screening for the first time are not attending which may leave them at a higher risk of not detecting breast cancer early. For further information, please call the breast screening unit on 02392 286 336 or email them at [email protected]
