A new campaign to reduce harmful vehicle fumes in Cosham launched this December, ensuring a breath of fresh, cleaner air for everyone.
Portsmouth City Council have teamed up with Portsdown Group Practice and local organisations to improve everyone’s health in the area by reducing carbon emissions caused by vehicles. We kindly urge all drivers to switch off their engines when stopping near the local doctor surgery, pharmacies, or high street shops when it is safe to do so. By taking this small step, we can significantly improve the wellbeing of the community – especially children, pregnant women, and individuals with heart or breathing conditions.
A successful campaign will have immediate benefits, such as reducing coughing and wheezing, while longer term advantages include lower risk of strokes, lung cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Let’s make a difference together. Turn your engine off when possible so we can all live healthier, longer lives.
